After a certain period of time, users of the Famedly TI-Messenger on desktop are automatically logged out when they close the browser tab. This is not a complete logout, as the device remains linked to your account. You only need to enter your password and the one-time password for verification, as your chat backup remains active. All settings you have made since logging in are also retained.
Restore Session
When you are automatically logged out, you will be informed that your session has expired.
You now have the options to either restore the session or log out completely.
Please note that the messages you receive can only be decrypted if at least one device is logged in. Even if the session has expired, your messages will still be decrypted, but not if you click the Log out button here, as you will then be completely logged out. If you have multiple active devices, you can ignore this warning.
Desktop
- Click Restore session.
- Enter your password and click Continue.
- Now enter your second factor (one-time password) in the field for the code and click Continue.
Set Time Until Automatic Logout
Desktop
- Click your profile picture or initials to open the settings.
- Click Security.
- Click Automatic logout.
- Select the time until automatic logout.
Please note that you will only be automatically logged out if your web app is inactive for a certain period of time. This happens, among other things, when the browser tab is closed or your device is in sleep mode or turned off.
